Skills for Life and Climate Justice Centre

After 12 years of working tirelessly to support education and training opportunities for children, young people and their families in the rural district of Sinazongwe, we are embarking on the next stage in our development to improve the quality and range of our life-changing services further!

This year, starting with Giving Tuesday and our ‘Donate a brick campaign’ we will be fundraising for a new Skills for Life and Climate Justice Centre in rural Zambia. This is a game-changing initiative that aims to combat the devastating effects of climate change while empowering extremely rural and remote communities. Our centre will provide comprehensive training in climate-smart agriculture and sustainable farming practices, equipping young people with the skills they need to thrive in a changing world.

But that's not all - our centre goes beyond agriculture. We will also house a tailoring and weaving centre, an entrepreneurship hub, an IT centre, and an organic demonstration garden. By offering a diverse range of skills and resources, we are creating a holistic environment where individuals can learn, grow, and become self-sustaining. We believe this is critical in a part of the world where less than 30% of children will currently receive a full 12 years of education and climate change is already affecting families livelihoods.

At our centre, we believe in practicing what we preach. That's why we will have free-roam chickens and rainwater harvesting systems to promote organic farming and water conservation. By leading by example, we hope to inspire the schools we support and the entire community to adopt sustainable practices.

However, none of this is possible without your support. Help us build this transformative centre so that we can empower rural communities to adapt to climate change while fostering entrepreneurship and self-sufficiency. Together, let's make a lasting impact on the lives of individuals and create a more sustainable future for all.
